Disclaimer for today’s podcast: we’re not talking about how to do macro counting or calorie counting today. I’m not going to tell you what exact numbers YOU have to hit to achieve your goals, i’m not going to tell you how many calories you need to eat in a day, exactly how many grams of carbs, proteins, or fats YOU need. Because everyone is different so giving one specific number would work for approximately 1-2 people…which isn’t going to help the majority of you. Also, the old theory of calories in-calories out is just plain wrong. Your body is so much more complicated than that. PS, while we’re on this topic, 1200 calories a day is the recommended intake for a three year old. And if you’re listening to this podcast, you’re probably not three years old, which means YOU NEED TO BE EATING MORE THAN 1200 CALORIES A DAY if you want to be thriving in your body. Ok rant over.

So what ARE we talking about today?

About how protein is for bodybuilders // for the gainz, fat makes you fat, and carbs make you fat right? WRONG. SO WRONG.

We’re talking about proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, and why each and every of them is SO IMPORTANT for your body, why you need ALL of them, and why need to stop DEMONIZING carbs, fats and protein.

I’ll break each macronutrient down, explaining:

  • What really is a protein, a fat, and a carbohydrate?
  • What foods is are they found in?
  • Why do you need them? What do they do in the body?
  • Who would need more of each one, and who might need less of them, depending on their unique health history, age or current state of life they’re in, their current goals, etc.?

Paradigm shattering, KNOWLEDGE BOMBS ARE COMING. Let’s do this.
