Brittany Rogers joins us today to talk about non-diet approaches to IBD treatment, and how our diet-obsessed culture intersects with IBD. Brittany is a Dietitian who specializes in working with people with crohn’s and colitis get into symptom remission so they can focus on living their life instead of living under the constraints of their disease. Brittany was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in high school so she knows firsthand what it’s like to suffer through IBD, and how to come out on the other side. On today’s episode we work through some of the main misconceptions and mental gymnastics involved in IBD, including unhelpful comments by friends, family, and practitioners. How do we take an add-in approach to IBD, instead of an elimination approach…especially when it feels like “everything hurts and I’m dying?”
