Barb Puzanovova is our guest today, who is also known as the the Non-Diet trainer! Barb is an ACE-certified personal group trainer, Behavior Change Specialist and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. She’s dedicated to teaching her clients how to move joyfully and train with intention for all bodies.

On today’s episode with Barb we’re digging into joyful and intuitive movement vs. training and workouts, and what a weight neutral approach looks like when she works with clients. We also discuss problems with before & after photos, and how to shift away from external motivators in your relationship with fitness in order to set ourselves up for success instead of with an all-or-nothing approach.

We’re chatting about:

  • How non-diet trainers can set goals and expectations with their clients in a non-triggering way that doesn’t solely focus on weight control
  • The roadblocks Barb sees in the industry that inhibit people from having a more intuitive or gentle relationship with fitness
  • Why we think people have an all or nothing/punishing relationship with fitness
  • How Barb disentangles fitness from weight loss with her clients
  • The biggest problems of “before and after” or transformation photos
  • What Barb believes needs to change in the fitness industry to make it a more inclusive and supportive environment for all bodies
