My little food blog just hit a milestone: 6 months!! I can’t believe time has flown so fast. Is this real life?
I wanted to thank YOU guys for being awesome readers. I wouldn’t keep blogging if it weren’t for you. Okay, maybe I would because I’m totally selfish like that (kidding). That wouldn’t be nearly as fun.
I absolutely love blogging and being able to share my food, shenanigans and nutrition tips with you guys. And obviously the Mean Girls/general pop culture quotes and jokes I slip in here and there. I try to pretend it’s totally normal if I’m laughing out loud to myself. Oops. And I like thinking it’s not weird at all to have internet friends. You guys get me.
So anyway. Long story short, you guys ROCK, and I can’t wait to keep going with this little corner of the internet. Here are your favorite/most popular posts from Real Food with Dana’s first 6 months!
Top Reader Favorite Recipes
1. Butternut Squash Breakfast Sausage
This post has been featured by some of the top paleo blogs, including Mark’s Daily Apple and Civilized Caveman as part of their weekly meal plans. I must’ve done something right! Oh wait, it’s delicious. That was it. (AIP)
2. Phat Fudge. “Unicorn Fuel”
This recipe was inspired by Mary, the Paleo Chef. It’s delicious for a healthy dessert or great to give you a boost of energy any time of day!
3. Zucchini Cheese (Paleo, Dairy-Free, AIP)
Why zucchini cheese, you ask? Because cheese is awesome and I miss it. And this tastes pretty damn close to the real thing. Its’ based on Hayley Ziegler’s original recipe (p.s. she’s the OG of paleo cheese so check her out!)
4. Secret Recipe Guacamole (Avocado Crack Sauce)
My FAVORITE recipe on the site. Maybe my favorite recipe ever, since I’m totally obsessed with guacamole. My friend’s dad asked me to move in across the country so I could make it for them all the time. True story. Do yourself a favor and make it. (AIP)
5. Turmeric & Spice Chicken Drumsticks
The perfect super bowl or game day food! But seriously delicious for any time of year. (AIP)
6. Sunny Sweet Potato Hash
Breakfast is my favorite. Plus, anything with bacon and sweet potatoes is a win in my book. And this recipe has bacon AND pancetta. Aka Italian bacon. Pop some eggs on top and you’ve got a perfect brunch recipe to impress any crowd! (AIP)
7. Pumpkin Pie Spiced Squash with Coconut Cream
This was the first recipe I ever posted! I’m thrilled that it did so well. But it is delicious, so there you go 🙂 It’s a perfect not-too-sweet breakfast, side dish, or could totally be dessert!

I guess you guys like reading about the whole30. And breakfast. And guacamole. Because those three things alone were the top grossing posts on my blog by FAR. So maybe I should do more posts like that? What do you think? What would you guys like to see more of?
Congrats! My Whole30 posts always drive a lot of traffic to my site too. I love your recipes! Guacamole is pretty much the best thing in the world lol.
PS turning 25 and “ugh I hate myself”… what are the 28 year old readers supposed to think about themselves? Huh?! 😉
Thank you!! I love writing about the whole30 too. I’m so glad you love my recipes too! I freaking love that guacamole. And hahah where did I say “ugh I hate myself”? Totally didn’t mean that in the context of turning 25 hahah!
Your email: “Speaking of that, I turn 25 next month. A QUARTER OF A CENTURY OLD. Ugh I hate myself. Not really but seriously WHEN DID I GET SO OLD?!”
Guilty haha!
Ohhhh hahah totally guilty!! Oops. But see, I was kidding there! Don’t actually hate it. Just surprised that time is FLYING! I visited some kids I used to babysit yesterday and they’re all seniors in high school now…so. weird.
I started coaching cheerleading in 2000… those girls are married and some have kids. The next group I coached are all in college now. It always makes me feel old!
I LOVE making guacamole and sweet potato chips. It’s what I make when my roommates chow down on tortilla chips and queso.
SO delicious!! Do you make your own sweet potato chips? I love them too, Jackson’s Honest brand is awesome 🙂
